The eldest mentions about the Kamenicky village are from 14th century. The original Gothic church has been built already in 1350. The most well-preserved buildings in this area are the Zdrazilova usedlost (estate), the manor “U Brazdu” and the house No. 97. The village came in awareness like “Slavickovy Kamenicky” (Slavicek’s Kamenicky)- a painting of landscape about 1904. The famous painter Antonin Slavicek portrayed in many paintings the beauty of the Vysocina landscape. The most famous are “U nas v Kamenickach” (Here in Kamenicky), Volakuv kopec (Volak’s hill) and others. The typical feature of a picturesque mountain village allures with its unusual appearance and a character of people not only painters but writers as well. The most famous penman was Karel Vaclav Rais in this region.
